Historically, if a person became incapable, through ill health, of managing their own affairs, the only option available to their family was to have the person made a Ward of Court.   This was often necessary, if property had to be sold, or assets protected.   However, making someone a Ward of Court is a cumbersome and expensive procedure.

An Enduring Power of Attorney, on the other hand, enables you to appoint a trusted family member and/or friend to manage your affairs solely for your benefit if, but only if and when you ever become unable to manage them yourself.   This offers you peace of mind, knowing that your affairs can be looked after, without the trouble and expense of having to be made a Ward of Court.

I provide a helpful Memorandum for Clients on Enduring Powers of Attorney, which is available to anyone upon request.
