Commercial, legal and family disputes have traditionally been resolved in Court, which is a long, expensive and very traumatic experience for everyone involved.   Mediation, on the other hand, is a quick, non-confrontational, non-adversarial alternative method of resolving disputes, without going to Court.

Mediation is very cost effective, not just because the professional costs involved are greatly reduced, but because the amount of administrative time and inconvenience for the parties themselves is also greatly reduced.   Mediation can be very important, if the parties to the dispute want to continue to have a continuing business or family relationship with each other, after the dispute has been resolved.

AS a CEDR Accredited Mediator, I provide the environment and the expertise which allows the parties to resolve the dispute themselves in an informal setting, thereby avoiding the only alternative, which is the need for Court litigation.

Mediation is completely confidential and entirely without prejudice.   If the dispute is not resolved at mediation, the parties are free to resolve the dispute through litigation.

If you do not engage in Mediation, a Judge may later penalise you in costs if he/she finds that you have unreasonably refused to try Mediation first.
